Listening to: From the Choirgirl Hotel. Not for long, though... it's not really matching my mood quite like I was expecting it too.

Currently Reading: Just barely started Jonathan Lethem's Gun, With Occasional Music. Kind of saving it for the train, as well as a stack of others (both fiction and non). Also, I recently read Laurie Notaro's I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies): True Tales of a Loudmouth Girl (again) in like two days, and peed myself laughing. Highly recommended. I also devoured The Broke Diaries by Angela Nissel in, like, a mere few days. Laughed until I peed. Also highly recommended.

Wishing: income. Lots of it. Other than that, life's pretty good.

I couldn't be more The current mood of ronkc@diaryland.com at www.imood.com right now.

Mary, The Ultra-Sensitive Barista.

Okay. Yeah. Today is a good day :-)

I got the day off, so I got to go to mass... hadn't been in a while. That was nice. refreshing. enriching. *sigh.*

I got to spend some time with my friend Katherine and her mom, Henriette... That was really good to, I hadn't seen them in a while.

We went to this really great coffee shop on 12th called "Animals." The owner, "Animal," also has a glassblowing shop in the back of the coffee place, and he's done all the glass for the inside of the place. It's totally beautiful and the coffee's great.

There's this lady who works there named Mary. She's really sweet and totally funny. She speaks French on my level, so we can talk about people in the shop in French, and they have no idea what's being said. It's great. We all call her "the ultra-sensitive barista..." She'll do this thing where she'll make someone a drink, ask how it is, and then freak out when they joke around and say it's terrible (she makes the best coffee drinks on the planet, like Katherine). She will say things like, "REALLY? Oh, my God, I'm so sorry. Here, let me make you a new one..." She'll grab the cup and run behind the counter before anyone will have a chance to tell her that they were kidding. She's hysterical. She's always coming up with new ways to give people the finger, as well. How can you NOT love that?? She's a stitch!

Anyway, plans for the afternoon involve finishing up a little laundry, BUTTLOADS of homework, maybe a couple household chores? Maybe a little personal website maintenance? Write a few emails...? Maybe slap together a collage or two...? Find a cure for cancer? I dunno...

Here I go! Watch me go! Wish me luck...
