Listening to: From the Choirgirl Hotel. Not for long, though... it's not really matching my mood quite like I was expecting it too.

Currently Reading: Just barely started Jonathan Lethem's Gun, With Occasional Music. Kind of saving it for the train, as well as a stack of others (both fiction and non). Also, I recently read Laurie Notaro's I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies): True Tales of a Loudmouth Girl (again) in like two days, and peed myself laughing. Highly recommended. I also devoured The Broke Diaries by Angela Nissel in, like, a mere few days. Laughed until I peed. Also highly recommended.

Wishing: income. Lots of it. Other than that, life's pretty good.

I couldn't be more The current mood of ronkc@diaryland.com at www.imood.com right now.

Cirque Du Soleil

Okay.

As I was just getting ready, I flipped on the TV. I wasn't particularly interested in Revenge of the Nerds II on Comedy Central, so I surfed. And came upon Bravo's Weekend Cirque du Soleil Extravaganza. Quidam is now showing. And I start to wonder what these people do on Thanksgiving.

PIERRE: Well, I'm thankful for all you guys, of course, because without you, there would be no magique.

JEAN-LUCAS: I'm thankful for leotards, ropes, and hula hoops.

PHILLIPPE: I'm thankful for shower caps and scary make-up.

GENVIEVE: I'm thankful for freakish strength and flexibility.

MARCEL: I'm thankful for the ability to frighten small children.

JACQUES: I'm thankful for a completely hairless body, and the ability to disjoint my legs at any given moment.

FIFI: I'm thankful for strange music, for weird clowns.

LOUIS: I'm thankful for that man dressed as a woman (completely in black, with an umbrealla) in the back of the arena who kind of dances around as if on crack while I do acrobatics and defy laws of physics and nature.

BERTHE: I'm thankful for bran muffins, and being allowed to eat one once a week.

MARIE-THERESE: I'm thankful for being able to recognise how completely foreign it is to be standing on two feet. On the ground. Completely motionless. Without a reverse-pyramid of Canadian people resting, quite literally, on your shoulders.

And then I realise that these people are from Canada, and therefore do not celebrate Thanksgiving. Nevermind.

Enjoy Thanksgiving Leftovers, everyone!!
