Listening to: From the Choirgirl Hotel. Not for long, though... it's not really matching my mood quite like I was expecting it too.

Currently Reading: Just barely started Jonathan Lethem's Gun, With Occasional Music. Kind of saving it for the train, as well as a stack of others (both fiction and non). Also, I recently read Laurie Notaro's I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies): True Tales of a Loudmouth Girl (again) in like two days, and peed myself laughing. Highly recommended. I also devoured The Broke Diaries by Angela Nissel in, like, a mere few days. Laughed until I peed. Also highly recommended.

Wishing: income. Lots of it. Other than that, life's pretty good.

I couldn't be more The current mood of ronkc@diaryland.com at www.imood.com right now.

Mazel Tov!

Okay.

So the other day I was in the doctor's office. Understand that this is a fairly large building with a million different doctors in it. I had just been injected in the face with cortizone (ouch, you say? Meh, I reply). I was on my way to the first floor to have some blood drawn. I shared an elevator car with a youngish woman with a baby, and another woman who seemed to be the youngish woman's mother.

I looked at the baby. "Adorable," I offered.

"Circumsised," the grandmother explained, straightfaced.

I tried to look charmed, smiling, but knowing that there must have been some hint of horror and confusion in my eyes. I mean, this woman just divulged a very, very intimate detail of her new grandson's life to a complete and total stranger. The child's mother must have been mortified.

"Mazel Tov," I said.

I'm pretty sure that they had no idea as to the meaning of signifigance of the congratulatory greeting I had offered them.

Whatever.
